Last week in AI - week40-2023
#lastweekinAI -- wow! what a week so far !!! if you took a nap you would have definitely missed something 😀
Those who are not following the AI trends and to certain extent even those who are following AI trends, this week was super impactful! Not only $$ point of view but also the progress being made in the AI world by these companies - Microsoft, Amazon, Anthropic, META, Spotify, OpenAI. I am sure there are many things I have missed but wanted to share few highlights (feel free to use comments for something major I may have missed).
🎈 Last Thursday, Microsoft announced Copilot, your everyday AI companion - which allows all the Windows 11 users to use Generative AI in their day to day life. Nice! Everyone will be productive next week onward! (if you are Windows user)
🎉 Here comes Monday and Amazon announcing up to $4B investment in Anthropic and taking minority ownership! It's a big deal and it will enhance overall AI safety. Great work 😍
🎊 Spotify joining party with Voice Translation for podcasts -- means your favorite podcaster will speak in non-english language (Spanish, German, French for now) -- imagine Joe Rogan "talking" in Hindi 😊
🎁 OpenAI's expansion of ChatGPT's capabilities, integrating voice and image functionalities to create a more intuitive, multimodal conversational AI -- this is huge! Assuming it works as designed, it's going to get us closer to AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)! Kudos to OpenAI 🎉
🏆 Emu - META released Text to Image generation model. Who will use Stable Diffusion, DALL-E and Midjourney? well, it depends on how good Emu is! 😑
🏅 META's AI stickers coming to Insta and Chatbot coming to WhatApp, Insta and FB Messenger -- at least people will stop copy/pasting from chatGPT to WhatsApp 🙄 The good thing is those who uses Ray-Ban smart glasses, will have real-time information on their hand (no, in their eyes!)
till next time, #staygenerative ~
